About Us. BIRD Automotive is a closely held USA corporation whose principal owner and president is Samuel Bird. Mr. Bird is a mechanical engineer/ MBA. For more than twenty five years we have designed, produced, sold and serviced accessories primarily for European and Japanese automobiles. At the beginning of the cellular era many of our products were related to installation and integration of cell phones. The Cellular Armrest and Storage Armrest are two examples.
Starting in 2000 we introduced a bicycle rack, cycle rack, bike rack, ski rack, snowboard rack, luggage rack, and golf bag carrier system which offers substantial advantages over alternatives.
All of the company's sales are products we have invented, many with patent protection. Most manufacturing is done by an accomplished team of long-term subcontractors in USA. From our computer aided designs they use numerically controlled laser cutters, computerized bending and other fabricating equipment to assure consistent quality. All final assembly and final quality control is performed in-house in California as is product service. Our customer base is international with US concentration on the east and west coasts because of their high density of European and Japanese automobiles.

Warranty and Returns. Our products are warranted for one year against defects in material and workmanship. It is our design intention that they last the life of the car.
Defective items will be repaired or replaced at BIRD’s option. Returns require a Return Authorization (RA) number obtained by the procedure outlined below. Freight to BIRD must be prepaid. Freight returning to customer will be paid by BIRD except beyond the continental US.
Satisfaction Guarantee. Products may be returned within 20 days of shipment for a refund. Returned items are subject to a 10% restocking charge. Products which have been installed are subject to a 25% restocking charge or more depending on the cost of reconditioning. Freight is not refundable.
Products need to be received in their original condition with all original packaging materials, components and documentation. Damaged and missing materials will be subject to restocking/remanufacturing charges.
Throughout our 25+ year history, returns are exceptionally rare: less than 1/2 of 1%.
Return Authorization. A Return Authorization (RA) Number needs to be obtained by phone from BIRD Automotive and printed clearly on the shipping container.
Items returned without an RA Number will refused or at our discretion received subject to a 15% restocking charge. Higher if remanufacturing is required.
